Elliott Hall: Building Hours, Transportation, & Maps
Building Access Request: Complete this form if you need access to Elliott Hall (U Card or key). Please allow 3 - 5 business days for processing.
- Authorizers: You can request the removal of access through the Authorizer Portal for Building Access.
After-Hours Lockouts
If you are locked out of the building or your room after hours, you can contact the Public Safety Emergency Communications Center (PSECC) at (612) 624-7828 or (612) 626-3680 to request that someone let you in. PSECC will contact the Department Facilities Representative (DFR) to verify whether you are approved for access.
Emergency Procedures
Facilities Management (FM)
- Maintenance issues should be reported to the Central Office (N218, (612) 625-2818, psymain@umn.edu) The Central Office will report it to FM on your behalf.
- If the Central Office is closed, email FM (fmcc@umn.edu) or call (612) 624-2900. Please subsequently notify the Central Office about the issue and they will follow up with FM to ensure resolution.
Room Scheduling
Astra Scheduled Rooms
To submit a reservation request for any Department of Psychology-managed room in Elliott Hall, complete this Google Form (internet ID log-in is required). You will receive a confirmation via email when the reservation is made or notification if there is a conflict.
Reoccurring reservations should only be made one semester at a time. If you want to reserve a room for subsequent semesters, you will need to fill out another Department of Psychology Room Reservation Request before the start of the new semester.
Note: Reservations may take up to 2 business days to be processed; plan accordingly.
Non-Astra Scheduled Rooms (Google Resources)
In the course of scheduling a meeting in Google Calendar, you can also reserve departmental rooms that are available as a Google Resource Calendar (i.e., rooms not otherwise scheduled via Astra). Psychology Computerized Assessment Center (PCAC) - S121 & S124
To submit a reservation request for the PCAC, complete this Knack Form. The rooms are secured, so requesters will need to submit their U Card information along with the request.
Dissertation Defense
Complete this online form. The Chair’s Office uses this form to reserve N219 for your defense.
Instructors or Section Leaders Looking to Change Classrooms
Contact Christina Wiencke or Heidi Wolff who can assist you with searching for and/or officially changing a classroom.

Breakroom and Lounges
Elliott Hall includes a variety of break rooms and lounges, including student-specific options:
- Departmental Breakroom (N230, door code 3254): This space has several seating options, a refrigerator, a toaster, and a microwave. Additionally, the Department keeps compostable plates and cutlery in stock for all to use. All faculty, staff, and students can use this space.
- Graduate Student Lounge (N249): Designated as a space exclusively for our graduate students, this lounge has comfortable seating options, a large workspace, and some small tables for collaborative work.
- Undergraduate Student Lounge (S225): This lounge is intended for undergraduate student use in which students can connect, socialize, or engage in group projects.

Gender Neutral Restroom
Elliott Hall has four Gender Neutral Restrooms all located located on the south side of the building.

- S126 (1st floor)
- S426 (4th floor)
- S524 (5th floor)
- Note: For security purposes, access to the fifth floor requires a key. If you require access, visit the Central Office or submit a Building Access Request.
Wellness/Lactation Room (S440)
This space has been made available for individuals to use if they need a private, locked space for brief periods. The room can be used for a wide variety of purposes such as nursing and pumping, prayer, virtual appointments, etc.
