The university has two applications that allow individuals to install & update approved applications/software without having to contact OIT or log in as an administrator.

UMN Licensed Software
Many applications are free to use with an active UMN account. Below are some Psychology-related programs

Software Through Research Desktop
Software is also available to be used remotely. Software titles available remotely include MPlus and NVivio Plus, as well as many neuro-imaging and statistical packages.
