Need SPSS or other software for your students? 

Windows Terminal Server (WTS) allows students to use software like SPSS and others. Instructors can request WTS access for their entire semester course. Contact [email protected] for such a request.

Apps-To-Go

AppsToGo is the name for the University of Minnesota's application delivery infrastructure. It is an application delivery service that allows you to run software without having to install it on your computer. Once you are set up with the necessary software, you can sign in to AppsToGo to use virtualized software applications, called Apps.

    Mediaspace is a video hosting platform integrate in Canvas; Kaltura is a tool for lecture recordings and media uploads.

    VoiceThread

    VoiceThread is a Canvas integrated tool and allows asynchronous video, audio, and text discussions. Lecturers can use VoiceThread for slide-by-slide lecture recordings or presentations. Check out the "New Assignment" features with a new assigment workflow and examples to use VoiceThread for assignments.

    FlipGrid

    FlipGrid is a Canvas integrated platform for ansynchronous video discussions and submissions.

    Kaltura and Mediaspace

    Kaltura is a media management platform for teaching and learning purposes, well-integrated in Canvas. This cloud-based system automatically optimizes video files for viewing on any device, includes strong accessibility workflows, powerful search functions, and deep analytics about who is watching videos and for how long. 

    Kaltura Mediaspace serves as a video repository. With the retirement of MediaMill and MediaMagnat, Mediaspace it the platform to host instructional videos.  Mediaspace allows organizing media via channels and playlists. Media can easily be shared and used for collaboration.
