Planning

Events have become more complex with the addition of virtual and hybrid events.  To assist with that, the Communications Manager can work with you to ensure that you have the best event possible.

Development

Before starting to work on an event, here are some things to take into consideration.

  • Modality
  • Promotion
  • Support (hosing zoom, furniture set-up, etc.)

The communication manager can assist in helping to publicize and think through the event.

Talent/Speaker Release

When we record an event or take individual photos, releases must be signed.

Land Acknowledgement Statement

The Land Acknowledgement Statement should be read before every event.

Before we begin, I first want to acknowledge that the University of Minnesota Twin Cities is built within the traditional homelands of the Dakota people. It is important to acknowledge the peoples on whose land we live, learn, and work as we seek to improve and strengthen our relations with our tribal nations. We also acknowledge that words are not enough. We must ensure that our institution provides support, resources, and programs that increase access to all aspects of higher education for our American Indian students, staff, faculty, and community members.
