Data Security and HIPAA Training

POLICY  All faculty, staff, and students who handle University data are required under University policy to complie with the following data privacy and security practices.

DUO SECURITY at Sign-in: To help secure yourself and the UofM, beginning in November 2018, you will be required to enroll in Duo Security at the time of your annual UMN password reset.

DATA SECURITY TRAINING  The Psychology Chair's office requires that all research staff including students and volunteers take the following two training courses available through UM Training Hub:

HUMAN SUBJECT TRAINING  If you work directly with human subjects, you may need to complete training in the Responsible Conduct of Research.

 

ADDITIONAL TRAINING  You may also be required to complete additional training. Complete instructions can be found here.

 

STUDENT RECORDS  What about data privacy for student grades? For anyone working with student grades, a tutorial on FERPA should be completed:
