Building Access Request: Complete this form if you need Elliott Hall access (u-card or key).  Please allow 3 - 5 business days for processing.

Building Emergency Procedures

Facilities Management (FM)

  • Maintenance issues should be reported to the Central Office (N218, (612) 625-2546,  The Central Office will report it to FM on your behalf.
  • If the Central Office is closed email FM ( or call (612) 624-2900.
    • Please let the Central Office know about your issue.

Special Spaces

  • Wellness Room/Lactation Room (S440)
    • Non-Elliott Hall residents should see the Central Office for one time access to this pace. 
    • Elliott Hall residents should inform Amanda Schmit of the request and complete a Building Access Request for continuous access to this space.  (Indicate Amanda Schmit as the approver)
    • This space is in addition to the UofM Lactation Resources website. Elliott Hall isn't currently registered on the UofM page, we are in the process of listing it.

Central Office Services

Central Office Services

The goal of the Central Office is to serve the people of the Department of Psychology and any visitors.  If anyone has questions or seams lost, please send them to the Central Office for assistance.

Mailing & Faxing

  • Mail (USPS, Campus, Supplies & Packages)
    • Incoming: Mail will be sorted into mailboxes located on the second floor.
      • Packages and oversized mail will be held in the Central Office (N218 Elliott Hall) and an email will be sent to the recipient.  Items can be picked up during business hours.
    • Outgoing:
      • USPS:
        • Stamped: Place in the labeled box under the table of 2nd-floor mailroom
        • Un-Stamped: Complete the postage sticker (found in N218), attach to mail needing postage, and give to Central Office Staff.
      • Campus: Place in the labeled box under the table of 2nd-floor mailroom
      • Packages: Paperwork and envelope/boxes for FedEx may be picked up in the Central Office.
        • Pick-Up:
          • Packages may be dropped off in the drop box located outside Morrill Hall on Church Street. (preferred method).
          • If you wish to drop a package off in the Central Office for pickup, please call 1-800-GOFEDEX and let them know what hours the central office is open.
  • Faxing
    • Incoming: Received documents will be placed in your mailbox.
    • Outgoing: Complete the Fax Cover-Sheet and give to Central Office Staff.  Confirmation sheets will be placed in your 2nd-floor mailbox.


  • N206 Elliott Hall
    • General Use
      • Copy code is required to use the copy machines for copies and printing.
      • A guide to printing to the copier can be found here.
    • Course Use
      • Codes are assigned to a specific course and assigned every semester.  Instructors will receive their course code approximately before the start of the term.
    • Grant Use
      • Codes can be requested through the Central Office

OMS Procedure (Test Grading)

Office of Measurement Services (OMS)

  1. Place inside an inter-departmental envelope
    • Students' answer sheets
    • Answer key
    • Exam Report Order Form (copies available in the Elliott Hall mail room or on the OMS website)
  2. Attach a delivery slip to the outside of the envelope (copies available in the Central Office)
  3. Call for delivery (612) 626-0707
  4. Leave the envelope in the Central Office
  5. Wait for OMS to email you results

Astra Scheduled Rooms

  • To submit a reservation request for any Department of Psychology-managed room in Elliott Hall, complete the Google Form (internet ID log-in is required). You will receive a confirmation via email when the reservation is made or notification if there is a conflict.

    *Reservations may take up to 2 business days to be processed; plan accordingly.

Non-Astra Scheduled Rooms (Google Resources)

  • While users are scheduling their meetings through Google Calendar, you can reserve your space at the same time.  To assist with this, here is a PDF and How-To video guide.

Dissertation Defense

  • Complete the online form. The Chair’s Office uses this form to reserve N219 for your defense.

Instructors or Section Leaders Looking to Change Classrooms

  • Contact Michael Walsh or Heidi Wolff. This is a separate process.

NOTE: Reoccurring reservations should only be made one semester at a time. If you want to reserve a room for subsequent semesters, you will need to fill out another Department of Psychology Room Reservation Request before the start of the new semester.



A limited amount of general office supplies are kept in the Central Office’s Supply Cabinet.

Special or Un-Available Supplies will need to be ordered through U-Market (a guide to ordering).

  • Necessary Information for Ordering:
    • Full EFS Account String
    • Full Justification (Who, What, Where, When, Why)
    • Approval of the PI (done prior to ordering)
  • Supplies will be ordered 1-2 times a week
    • To ensure your supplies are ordered, the request needs to be submitted to Amanda Schmit (amsuchy) by Wednesday of the week you would like them ordered.
